Spring 2025 marks a time of renewal, refreshment, and excitement in Japan. It is the middle of spring, and the signs that the Earth is in her warming cycle have appeared: the cherry blossoms are blooming, and people are putting away their winter sweaters and hats. The new school and fiscal year also begin at this time.
Another event that Spring 2025 brings is the one-year anniversary of Healing Land Reiki’s expansion from Sendai to include Kyoto, the capital of Reiki. This year has not been anything like what we expected, but it truly shows how things will work with you if you are willing to do the work.
Watching Lena take an empty property and transform it into a full Reiki center in Kyoto has been amazing. I watched as the many chairs, tables, curtains, bookshelves, plates, decorations, and more she had been storing at our Sendai center for many years suddenly found purpose in Kyoto. I admit I had no idea that she had been planning our new stand-alone center but she knew what she was doing. Even Lena was not aware of the scale her work would take on in such a short time. After one year, it has been interesting watching the reactions of both session clients and Reiki students to the spacious, warm atmosphere of the center. You are invited to visit us for Reiki sessions in Kyoto and/or Reiki training in Japan.
The World Expo Begins
Something else big that Spring 2025 brought was the opening of the World Expo 2025 in Osaka. With the theme “Designing Future Society for Our Lives,” this Expo, formerly called the World’s Fair, is dedicated to finding ways we can build a healthier, more connected, and sustainable world. Its three core pillars—Saving Lives, Empowering Lives, and Connecting Lives—will be showcased in pavilions sponsored by various countries. These will showcase ideas we can implement into our daily lives. These pillars are directly in line with the principles of Reiki and holistic healing.
Saving Lives: Reiki and Holistic WellBeing
One of the Expo’s key focuses is health—extending life expectancy, promoting well-being, and preventing illness. Reiki is right in line with this theme since it is used to support spiritual healing, mental clarity, emotional balance, and physical well-being. And while Reiki is not a replacement for medical treatment, it works to reduce stress, ease pain, and can lead to an improvement in overall health. Reiki healing in Kyoto offers a chance to experience this holistic support firsthand.
Empowering Lives: Personal Growth Through Reiki
The Expo is also emphasizing self-empowerment—helping individuals take charge of their lives and well-being. This is right in harmony with what we do as Reiki practitioners because Reiki gives us the ability to support our own healing, find inner peace, and navigate life with more clarity and confidence. Many people who learn Reiki in Japan report feeling a deeper connection to their inner guidance and resilience.
Connecting Lives: Building a More Peaceful World
The Osaka Expo also highlights the importance of human connection—how we can build a more peaceful and inclusive society. Reiki is not just a personal practice; it is a way to connect with others on a deeper level. Reiki communities around the world emphasize kindness and connection, and when more people practice Reiki, that energy spreads. One of the reasons it spreads is because of the core precepts of Reiki taught to us by Reiki pioneer Mikao Usui Sensei: “Just for today, be kind.” By learning and sharing Reiki, you are actively contributing to a more harmonious world—one person at a time.
How the Expo and Reiki Intersect
With the Expo in Osaka drawing visitors from all over the world, Kyoto is the ideal place to receive your Reiki training since it is a short 43 kilometers (27 miles) away. Kyoto, with its tranquil temples and healing energy, offers the perfect environment to immerse yourself in Reiki and explore Reiki experiences in Kyoto.
So, if you’re coming to Japan for the Expo or simply transiting through Japan, consider adding Reiki training or a Reiki session in Kyoto to your journey. Healing Land Reiki in Kyoto is ready to welcome you—whether you’re completely new to Reiki or looking to deepen your practice. Let’s take this opportunity to create a future that reflects balance, peace, and well-being for all
